How To Use Gear Doctors ApolloAir Ultralight Camping Pad

How to Use Gear Doctors ApolloAir
ApolloAir is a pump-sack inflatable sleeping pad. It is not self-inflating. Use the included pump sack to inflate the pad, then adjust firmness from the valve until it feels supportive and comfortable.
How to Inflate ApolloAir
- Take ApolloAir out of the pouch and unroll it on a clean, flat surface.
- Open the inflation valve.
- Attach the included pump sack firmly to the valve.
- Fill the pump sack with air, then roll or press it to push air into the pad.
- Repeat until the pad feels supportive.
- Close the valve firmly before lying on the pad.
How to Adjust Firmness
For a softer feel, open the valve slightly and release a small amount of air. For more support, add more air with the pump sack. Most campers sleep best when the pad is firm enough to keep hips off the ground, but not overfilled.
How to Deflate and Store ApolloAir
- Open the valve fully after use.
- Apply gentle pressure with your hands to release air faster.
- After the pad is fully deflated, fold one side lengthwise toward the center.
- Fold the other side over the first fold.
- Roll from the foot end toward the open valve to push out the remaining air.
- Place the rolled pad back into the carry pouch once the air is released.
Cleaning and Storage
- Wipe the pad with a damp cloth and mild soap when needed.
- Let the pad dry fully before packing or long-term storage.
- Do not store the pad wet.
- Store it in a cool, dry place away from sharp objects, direct heat, and long-term compression.
Leak Check and Repair
- First check that the valve is fully sealed.
- Inflate the pad and use soapy water to look for bubbles.
- Mark the leak, then clean and dry the area.
- Apply one of the included repair patches firmly over the puncture.
- Let the patch bond before reinflating.
Safety Notes
- Inflate ApolloAir at home before your first trip to check the valve and practice setup.
- Do not use sharp tools around the valve or fabric.
- Keep the pad away from fire, extreme heat, thorns, rocks, and sharp gear edges.
- For cold weather, pair the pad with the right sleeping bag, clothing layers, and campsite setup.
